Georgia On My Mind

A week removed from the November 3rd elections and most of the dust has settled, save for two interesting US Senate races. Since no candidate received 50% of the votes cast, a runoff is scheduled for January 5, 2021, for not just one, but both Senate seats. This will make for more political kabuki.

If one Republican wins, then they will be in the majority. If both Democrats win, it will be 50-50 (really 51-50 Democrats, tie breaking vote to VP) and here comes 2008 all over again, where one party controls driving legislation. Whether that is a good or bad thing, time will tell. But from my perspective, let’s not have a rerun of “We need to pass the bill to find out what’s in it”.

Before then, it will be time to celebrate Thanksgiving, yes, a time to be thankful for family, friends and a vaccine 🙂

Much is to be done before 2021, so stay safe, healthy and focus on what matters to each of you. Count your blessings and all will be “peachy” keen.
